Kaitlyn Hutchens, Associate IIDA

Interior Designer

Kaitlyn graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor degree in Interior Design and minor in General Business. Her observant eye and passion for detail have led to her success, both academically and professionally. As a college intern at T2pm, Kaitlyn was exposed to a wide range of design and project management knowledge, including construction documentation, finish selection, and project scheduling.

Since joining as a full-time employee, Kaitlyn has further developed these skills at T2pm. Her technical knowledge, computer program literacy, graphic communication skills, and hand sketching abilities contribute substantially to the company's project development. Her responsibilities as a designer include programming, space planning, design development, field verifications, and construction documentation. Kaitlyn also specifies finishes and furniture, compiles furniture and equipment inventories, coordinating FF&E installations, and move planning.

Her project experience ranges from finish refreshes, department expansions and relocations, administrative offices, research, clinical and lab spaces. She also shows a specific interest in lighting design, and how varying light sources can both affect and support daily functions. Kaitlyn enjoys collaborating with her team, other professionals, and clients as she gains more experience in the industry.

Kaitlyn is currently pursuing both her EDAC and NCIDQ certifications.
