Northwest Community Care Network

Community Care of North Carolina

Northwest Community Care Network (NCCN) was an expanding non-profit organization that had employees working throughout Northwest North Carolina. Because of their of affiliation with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, space was provided for a new headquarters space within the Piedmont Plaza II building in order to consolidate multiple locations.

T2pm worked with NCCN to determine the spatial and furniture needs of the group. Due to the group’s expansion there was a lot of recently purchased furniture that could be reused in their new space. T2pm was able to match the existing pieces they had to meet the functionality requirements of the new space and reduce cost. This new office space was a place where visitors were frequently invited so a sense of welcoming and branding was important to NCCN. These needs are reflected in the warm finish palate, signage and plenty of natural light coming into the interior of the office.

T2pm coordinated the programming, architectural and engineering design, interior design, signage, construction and project closeout for NCCN. The project was bid simultaneously along with three other projects on the same floor in order to create economy of scale, lower costs, and improve the schedule. The building was challenged with ADA, infrastructure, HVAC, electrical, and technology/ telecom/data deficiencies which required extensive coordination between the medical center, providers, and professional service providers. Environmental conditions included the presence of asbestos. Demolition of the 7th floor and asbestos abatement was conducted while the remaining floors were occupied.
